Like most dog owners I have a collection of leads scattered around the house and in cars. Flexi leads, tape leads and various rope leads. This is a sturdy rope lead. The metal bits are all painted black rather than the usual chrome finish, it looks nice enough although not really important. The construction of the lead itself is a good sturdy rope in a variety of colours. The handle is a nice soft grip, which is quite nice if your dog is a puller on the lead.Overall this is a very good rope lead.

Excellent mid-length dog lead. We have a wolfhound so need a short control lead and a longer retractable one depending on where he’s going. But this is somewhere in between the two and great for daily use. It has just a little elasticity but is very strong and (so far) he hasn’t attempted to chew through it so that’s a good sign! The padded foam handle is very comfortable and helps you keep hold of your dog when he pulls hard without leaving you with raw palms. It’s very lightweight and just about fits in your pocket while he charges through the undergrowth. Comes with a wee bag. Only minor gripe would be that the rubber(?) shielding round where the lead is bent back on itself to hold the hook quickly worked its way loose. However, it isn’t going anywhere and the lead underneath is sound. This is now the lead that gets the most everyday use so what better recommendation can I give?

A good lead. It is a little longer than our other leads of similar make and style. The orange colour is nice and bright and a good contrast against his black fur. The clasp was a little stiff, but this will ease with use. The rope does have some slight elasticity in it, which aids a little when they start to pull. The handle was comfy – not the comfiest one I have used, but OK. Overall, a good lead for the price.

Good strong lead with comfy handle for ease on hands and excellent for use with a larger dog such as a Labrador or Bassett hound. Great value, excellent quality.

We have a small dog so this lead is a little heavy for her but she is so strong that it’s worth the extra bit of weight. This one is comfy to hold and I feel secure that she will not get away. My only negative (with this rope style in general) is that it is a little heavy if you drop it and they run with it on the ground. We shouldn’t let that happen I know but with the flat “strap” style they drag better due to being lighter.Overall a good lead!

I took this lead out of the rapping straight away. It feels very nice to handle. I’ve used it twice nowand first impression is that it will do everything I need. I have a medium sized dog but think it willsuit most sizes. You get a choice of colours, Mine is an emerald colour. Very strong for any breed.Nice soft handle. The lead itself is reflective. A good length supplied. When you get to the clip i like it very much as it is a good size and feels very strong. Also the thumb slide is large so easy to use.General feeling that it is substantial and looks nice too.

I found this a bit heavy for my dog .probably because iv been used to a much lighter one .the quality is good and looks great it’s a good length to allow dog a bit off freedom

At first sight, I was all prepared to not like this lead. Even when I first put my hand through the handle, I was unsure. However, when I was out on a walk with our German Shepherd and switched from our old lead to this one, I was very pleasantly surprised. It’s a good length. Although advertised as 1.5m, whereas our old one was advertised as 6ft, this one feels longer (I haven’t checked which lead is/isn’t the length it is supposed to be). It certainly gives the dog more freedom whilst still being under my control. The material on the loop that goes around your wrist is actually comfortable in use, providing some protection against the loop being pulled off of your wrist, without digging in. It’ll be interesting to see what it feels like in the height of summer when wrists might be a bit sweaty. Really, the only negative that I can find is that being a rope lead, it doesn’t roll up as small as our old lead, so it can’t easily be put in my pocket when the dog is either off-lead or switched to an extending line, long line etc.[Edit: Just used the lead on a day when the German Shepherd was pulling hard, in go-ahead mode. Whereas the lead is comfortable when the dog is relaxed, I found it hard work when the dog was pulling, certainly harder than with our usual lead]

This dog lead is really nice and strong, very well made and the padded handle makes it comfortable to hold. It is quite long, and I did find that with my smallest dog (a Patterjack) I had to wrap the lead around my hand a few times, but it will be perfect when we are in places where he can be on a longer lead, such as country walks.Recommended.

This lead is really smooth and easy to use.The handle is well padded. The clip at the end is quite large and robust.I would like to point out to check the measurements first, as I find it to be quite long.Yes the dog can be pulled near quickly if needed as the rope is soft, but when fully extended out its quite long.A nice vibrant colour which is good for both male and female dogs.Sturdy and robust, a good solid lead !!

This is a really sturdy and dependable dog lead, good length and first-rate workmanship. The handle is really well padded with neoprene, ideal for just slipping over your wrist, and the metal fixtures are reassuringly solid. A great choice all-round.

Very nice lead, I got it in light bue and it’s a beautiful colour. It looks very well made, no loose threads, and very sturdy buckles. The handle and rubber parts are soft and I like the detail of the extra ring to hook it while my dog is off the leash.I’d definitely recommend it, I was very surprised when I checked the price, under £10! I have bought leashes for double the price not as good as this one.

Big and durable dog lead, super impressed. Strong and tough style lead, nothing feels weak or like it would break when your doggo decides to bolt the other way.The handle has a really comfortable foam part that sits nicely in the hand and stops your palm getting sore or chafed.Note: the orange one is WAY brighter than the photos, it’s pretty neon (that’s not a bad thing, it’s actually tons better) but just to note.Great lead, can’t fault it.

Bright coloured, almost a yellowy green…Well made, good thickness.. good price. Very happy.

The ADOV Dog Lead is made of a looped rope with a metal clip for attaching to collars and harnesses. The foam used to provide padding at the handle is fine, but is thin and compresses easily. For smaller dogs this is fine, but larger animals may pull enough to make this uncomfortable. At 1.5m in length, the lead is a decent length for general use, the rope has a bit of stretch, but not so much that you would notice. There is an additional metal ring at the handle loop end, this doesn’t appear in the listing and I’m not sure of its intended function but it does seem superfluous.Essentially, at under £9 at the time of writing, the ADOV Dog Lead represents decent value.
