It is a bit noisy but i have it in the back so doesnt bother me

All 4 of our cats like to drink from this fountain. It’s quiet and was very easy to assemble. The wire with the plug is a little bit short, so 4 stars.

Used daily, my cat drank from the kitchen tap … now drinks from the flower, nice light too. Very happy

Getting cats to drink water is never easy but this product works as it intrigues cats curiosity to investigate and drink
Elisa E. –
The fountain is absolutely fine, easy to assemble and comes in a cute cardboard box that has a cutter guide that turns it into a play box for the cat, very clever! The only problem is that my cat seems to be scared of the fountain. Not sure if it’s because of the noise but so far I’ve only seen her drinking from it once. We’ve only had it for a few days so hopefully she’ll will eventually start to like it more.

Update 2: I bought a replacement pump just in case, but the original is still working fine after 2y4m.Update: Suitable for hens too.Recently acquired a maine coon at very short notice, a victim of previous owners separation… They like to drink from taps apparently so bought this to lure him out of my kitchen sink where has been sitting in hope. Took 5 mins to wash and set up. Very quiet. Can’t hear from the other end of the kitchen. Curious cat had watched me setting it up, approached it with interest, sniffed around it and started drinking. A bit messy at first as he tried out the flower and the little streams but he soon got the hang of it and decided what was best for him. He’s been back a couple of times. Gave it 4 because the mains lead is not long enough to reach a work surface height socket – the only ones in my kitchen/utility room, and I’m not having it on the worktops, so it’s in the bootroom where it’s a bit in the way of the traffic which is good for neither the traffic nor the drinker. If the cable was twice as long there would much more flexibility to get the unit in the right place .

We have two cats. The first one we knew would love it as she loves running water, however the second one doesn’t like change so took him a little longer. Now he loves it so much so we bought another one.
J –
Easy to set up. My cat get fresh water daily. She loves it and has been drinking way more water and hardly ever goes to her water bowl anymore. The light is like a night light. It’s so quiet, I just hear trickling water. my humidifier is louder. It doesn’t overflow.

This fountain is pretty much the same as many other fountains I’ve reviewed. I think it boils down to design and price really. This is essentially a round basin with a powered pump/LED in the base. The top cover has a spout that the water goes up and you get two heads (flower or petal) for the water to pour from. The petals are probably better for small dogs as there’s more water but over two places, as opposed to the flower that has has six outlets at the top.Power is via a plug that has a standard barrel connector underneath. The pump has an integral lead that goes into it. Most have a USB lead, so this is possibly less versatile in that respect. You get a standard round filter (again, they all seem to be the same size of 120mm O/S diameter and a 35mm hole in the middle) that should last a couple of months. Seeing how my cats will drink from dirty water from old paint tins in the garden I’d not really bother changing it every month like they suggest…The LED shines through the transparent measure on the side and lights the whole thing up a bit at night, so you won’t trip over it in the dark. It’s quiet in operation and doesn’t frighten the cats. Water lasts a good couple of days with two cats constantly using it. I change it regardless every week, but the filter seems to keep it clean and free of dust and fur.
Jenna –
Brought this today, my cat has had problems with a urinary tact and he keeps going to the kitchen sink to drink water. Even though his water bowl is full. As soon as I plugged it in he was straight to it and started drinking. It has nearly no noise to it at all, wished the lead was a little longer though we’ve made it work.
Orla –
My cat didn’t seem to be drinking very much water even though I had bowls and cups in every room of the house. Then I noticed she liked it when I cold water tap in the bathroom was running and she would sit lapping at that for minutes at a time. This behaviour and realisation that she wanted running water led me to purchasing this item.It arrived quickly and was easy to set up. My girl was fairly hesitant at first but after a few hours she took to it completely. It’s been about a month since I got this for her and while she might still drink out of a bowl she will mostly only drink from her fountain and she isn’t so demanding about the bathroom sink anymore so results all around really. The cord is long enough that it doesn’t need to sit right beside a plug socket and the fact that you can change the way the water comes out/sounds is a bonus too as I find my girl investigates and drinks more if I change the water flow. Really easy to take apart and clean and I love the fluid level on the side. It can get a bit noisy if the water level is low so I do try to keep it full most days.
Simon A –
This is one of the best fountains. However it has a fatal flaw in terms of the engine which develops a loud noise after 6 months to 1 year. I’ve tried a few other fountains but all have some issues, and so I end up buying this again. I just wish they fixed the engine 🙁
Nina noonar –
It’s slightly noisy but not too bad. Cat does use it but not regularly. I’m pretty sure it’s improved his fluid intake though.
F. Brewer –
I had no idea that a cat fountain was even a thing! Our new cat came from a charity, she likes to drink (like many cats) from a dripping tap which is obviously not convenient or particularly hygienic, the cat fountain is the perfect solution. It is easy to assemble, easy to clean and so quiet, just a gentle trickle noise and our cat loves it, so glad I purchased and most importantly I know that she stays hydrated
Primrose –
Easy to assemble and works well. My cat does not like the flower fitment but prefers the water to bubble up over the top plate. I don’t need to keep changing the water now either because she liked it changed two or three times a day in her old dish. She has always been a water drinker but often from stagnant rain water in the garden but not anymore. She is a very healthy elderly cat who tends to have a drink after each meal and between her 2 hour (approximately) naps so not always with her face in the fountain. Took her a week to get used to it but when I dipped my finger in to show her it was ok she took to it from then on. I keep it running 24/7 on the landing it is so quiet I cannot hear it from my adjacent bedroom. It does make a slight humming noise but after a while you don’t notice it especially if you keep it topped up. It certainly doesn’t disturb me or keep me awake at night and I am a light sleeper so happy cat, happy upright!
Jayne –
I had the older version of this and it was brilliant so when it finally died I got this one.Main problem with the new model is that the flex is shorter so I could no longer use it in the kitchen as all the sockets are at counter top level, so now it has to be in the hallway which isn’t ideal. As for the flower thing, it works better without it – especially as when I added the flower my two tomcats thought it was now a toy and splashed water everywhere. All in all a great water fountain but needs a slightly longer plug lead.
Jacky –
I have to say that this product really has exceeded my expectations. I was worried about my beautiful cat not drinking enough (even more of a concern as she is a Persian and they are prone to kidney problems). Like many cats she loves drinking from the tap but isn’t so keen on water bowls and I was sceptical as to whether she would use this fountain when I purchased it. The great news is that she loves it and drinks from it regularly! It took her a little while to start doing this (and she only started when we removed the flower bit from top) but it has now resolved all of my concerns about her not drinking enough. It’s super easy to clean and the noise from it is a quiet hum, it’s not noisy but you are certainly aware of it being there (but it’s well worth it for the benefit to the well-being of the cat). I hope this helps 🙂
Mr W Crawford –
Our cat would have drank from the bathroom sink taps and hardly drank from her water bowl. So we decided to get her a water fountain since she clearly preferred running water.Very quiet motor, USB powered with a good length cable included. 3 different water flowe features. Easy to assemble, the yellow insert can’t be difficult to detach. But overall 10/10 would recommend

Fussy fur baby adores her filtered water. Peaceful Cat now
Reigan –
There is a model that has metal parts that is much more hygienic and easier to clean, the kittens drink from this as they like to drink off of the petals and it only took a week for them to get a hang of it. The replacement filter parts are cheap when bought in packs of 12s.
Amazon Customer –
Does exactly what it says and both my cats are happy to drink from it. One thing i hadn’t thought of – as it runs on mains power if you have a power cut it will stop and your cat’s will need another water source. On the whole i am very happy with this fountain
morgan –
My friends cat just had to be put to sleep because of kidney failure. The vet said that it was most more then likely due to a lack of water. So I’m glad I got my little one this thing because ever since having this fountain he is drinking so much water! Noise was loud to start with but since the first day it’s so quiet and I never notice it
kkociniak –
Really good, read it was a little loud but not at all, super quiet. Although my cat is fussy and doesn’t want to drink from it, it is a great drinking fountain.
Katie Cook –
This does a deep whirring noise that is quite annoying if you live in a flat. Cat does enjoy drinking out of it though. I turn it off when she’s asleep or I’m out.

Edit: 27 September 2016. Having had this for a few months now I noticed when I unplugged it to clean it that the moulded adaptor is splitting along the seam. Were this to break it would expose the wiring. Due to the nature of the fault, I rang the manufacturer and they have said they’ll send me a replacement power adaptor. Just be aware while unplugging but hopefully this is an isolated issue. In all other ways I still think this is great and my cat loves the fountain. I’ve found the filters last about a month before I need to replace them, when the fur no longer rinses away.Original review was 5 stars in April 2016.I’ve had this for a month now and am delighted with it. My cat had a serious tap licking problem: he kept licking my kitchen mixer tap to get the air lock to release so a bit of water would come out, despite having a bowl of fresh water on hand at all times. This was less than ideal for me as I wasn’t keen on having him do that to the tap from which I get all MY drinking water. This was what led me to consider a drinking fountain for my furry tap licking companion.Upon arrival I unboxed the fountain (noting the nice box, decorated with bits to cut out to turn it into a cat toy – a nice touch) and washed it all before following the clear instructions supplied to fit everything together. 3 litres of water later and it was ready to introduce the cat to it. I was a bit concerned that the noise of the pump might put him off, or that he might not like it, but need not have worried. (FYI I have noticed that the pump is a touch noisier if the water goes below the fill level so keep it topped up, but it’s still very quiet.)After no more than a minute of hard cat staring, my cat tentatively approached and within a few more minutes was drinking from the fountain like a pro. I initially put the whole thing together, including the yellow ‘flower’ centre, which is recommended for cats who play with water, like him. He seemed happier, though, when I removed it, leaving the white ‘petal’ part behind. You could also remove this if your cat prefers water which doesn’t stream. The water flows between the white petals but it’s very gentle and my cat likes to drink the water which bubbles up in the centre. The unit runs quietly and the filter seems to do a good job of catching cat fur and any little bits of stuff you wouldn’t want floating in the water. Every week I pour away all the water, wash everything, rinse it off and then dry and reassemble. I’ve ordered the replacement filters and have them on hand but the original filter still looks very clean and a bit of a rinse under the cold tap cleans it nicely so hopefully I won’t have to change them more often than once a month or so.I was prompted to write this review today when I was doing the weekly clean and the cat appeared. The fountain was sitting on the floor, switched off, and I was waiting for my water filter jug to finish filtering the next jugful of water to refill it. The cat started to lick at the petals and obviously wanted a drink. I immediately grabbed his old water bowl (kept on hand in case of power cuts and for this sort of thing) and filled it with water. He was unimpressed and wouldn’t touch it. He chose, instead, to wait until I’d got the fountain filled to the recommended level and then had his drink. So, that’s a clear preference expressed from him!All in all I’m really pleased. It is a bit pricey just for something for a cat to drink from but drinking plenty of water is important for cats and honestly I get a lot of pleasure from seeing him so happy. It also seems a bit more natural for him to be drinking moving water and if nothing else is an added form of enrichment for him to express more natural cat behaviour. My taps are no longer licked, so for that alone I’m happy to have spent the £25!
Roger Bodger –
Just taken delivery of this and it seems quite good, though I have yet to interest my cat!It fitted together ok, though the instructions were not quite as good as they could be . First it doesn’t mention the sliding control on the pump, so when I first switched it on nothing happened – as it seems that the slider was in the ‘off position’.Second, it says there are three modes of flow – no ‘flower’, flower alone and flower plus cap. Mine arrived with the cap in place, which was impossible to remove, so the second mode was unavailable. Finally, as many others have stated – the USB cable is ludicrously short – the manufacturer seems to assume that we provide a power socket right next to the cat’s feeding station! Obviously we don’t, so a USB extension lead is a must for me and probably many others. Fortunately Amazon sell such items in various lengths, but that involves extra (unnecessary) expense.
Family McCarthys –
Good product, easy to assemble and our cat took to it immediately. It is very quiet and will not disturb at all.It is also easy to clean
Amanda –
The only reason I give less than 5 stars is because of problems with the listing, not the fountain itself. The listing claims that the fountain comes with a UK power plug, but it came with a EU 2 pin plug, so I have had to use the plug from an old phone charger to plug the fountain into the wall. Also, the Q and A section contains the info that the power cord is 1.5 meters long. However it is only 1 meter long, and so falls just short of being able to reach the counter top socket that I was planning to plug it into.Apart from those issues, the fountain itself is brilliant. One thing I was worried about with buying a fountain was noise, but this is completely silent. Apart from the occasional bubbling of water, you wouldn’t even know it was there. It is super easy to put together and take apart. And most importantly of all, my cat loves it!
Emma –
I purchased this cat fountain because I’d heard a lot of positive reviews. Set up and installation went smoothly and my kitty now drinks a lot more water because of it. I would love to give it 5 stars but sadly mine didn’t come with the flower head attachment and the machine was already up and running and used before I realised. Oh well, still a nifty product. 🙂
Florina –
I love it, and my cats do too
Ian Butler –
My only pet peeve with it is that the water pump used is loud when it reaches a certain water level.
A.J. Sefton –
Really pleased with this. Mostly because it is so quiet as others I’ve seen are quite noisy and that could potentially scare off one of my scaredy-cats. Second is that it is neat and compact and quite attractive. There are three interchangeable fountain features – a simple spout, a seedling shape and a flower. The water comes from them in true fountain style. There is also a a nice green light as you can see in my photo. The base is quite large and keeps the water cold and in the summer we can put ice cubes in if necessary. A visible window allows you to see the level of water. This is easy to set up, use and maintain and looks to be well made. There is a booklet explaining g everything and the filters can be bought easily from Amazon. The height is just right for ordinary cats to drink from without straining so that’s good for our elderly cat. Good valu

Our cat didn’t seem to drink his water so we got this he now drinks quite a bit from it and it lights up at night …… my indoors water feature
Alexandra Andrea –
I purchased this for one of my cats who learnt from a young age to only drink from a running tap. I thought he would be the only one who drank from it… but I found all 3 of my cats using it and lying in front of it at various points as if they’re charging a fee to the others to use it (or lots of multiple boops on the back legs as sibling runs away).Good investment, highly recommend

I’ve had one of these before, so I knew what I was getting before it arrived.I used to use it for teaching kittens to drink from a fountain. I have another one with an open water bowl, but I was worried the kittens would fall in, so I bought one of these.I still have the larger fountain, but wanted another one of these. This is easy to assemble, easy to fill and my cats actually use it.It’s very quiet, just a low hum from the pump. Mine is on a hardwood floor, so maybe if it were on a carpet or mat, it would be completely silent. Personally, I like the sound of trickling water, so that wouldn’t bother me, but this doesn’t have that, the flow is very gentle.I find the water level guage pointless. It’s on the floor, so the level can’t be seen, but if it were up higher, it might be visible. This is an unimportant feature for me though, not one that swayed me towards buying it. It was bought purely on previous experience. My cats use it, so I’m happy with it.

I have 2 cats and they love their fancy drinking fountain. It’s easy to set up and practically silent when it’s on. It only becomes noisy/makes water splashing sounds when the water level is getting low.
Jasmine –
Easy to assemble but maybe it’s just my cat that finds it difficult to drink out of it. But she loves the fresh water every time !

Arrived and was easy to put together. Only problem is the cable length isn’t that long so I couldn’t place it where I originally want to have the fountain. Is fairly quite and can be changed to different flows. Cats didn’t go near it for a good 2 weeks but now they use it regularly so don’t give up if you cat isn’t fussed at first.
REVIEWED FOR YOU! –
I would say this is adequate enough for 2-3 cats. It’s really cool once it’s setup as it provides a constant stream of flowing water which I trudged your cat in and during the process makes / helps them drink more. With a tank size of 2L this also lasts a few days too! As the water flows down the waterfall and back into the tank it’s passed through a filter so you can rest assured the water is always safe for your kittens to drink. The quality is fairly good and it was really easy to put together and get working using the simple instructions provided. I like the two tone white and lime colour too. Arrived nicely packaged and could make a great gift if buying someone a new kitten 🙂

I had one of these back in Canada, and when I moved to the UK, I got another one for my cats. I like the updated feature with the viewing window to see the water level so that you can fill it before it gets to low and compromises the motor. It has a huge capacity, and I only have to fill it about every 3rd day for my two cats, so it’s nice not to have to refresh every day. The only thing is that where I live, there is really hard water, and I find that the motor does make a little noise no matter how much water there. It’s not super loud or invasive, but I wish that the filter could also offer a water softening feature.
Andrew R –
It is good water feeder for my cats, but it took quite a while before they understood it was their water supply, so we had to keep separate water source also for them to stop them dehydrating inadvertently. In the end one of the cats took to destructing it during the nights, pulling out the flower then pulling out the top green cover and pulling out the filter which left water all over the floor each morning. so we had to replace it with another make which acted like a water fall rather than a fountain. If your cats like it then it is ok, if not then a normal water feeder which provides a reservoir then cats can drink from is better bet.Thankfully we did not pay the full price.
Russtafarian –
Been using this for a few months now. Initially my tabby cat was quite cautious of it… it does produce a noticeable hum which I think she was dubious about, but within 30 minutes of the being in the house, she was drinking from it, and has done everyday since. It’s very easy to put together, to use and to refill with water. The motor is small and powered by a USB cable (which comes with a wall socket), and as said, does produce a noticeable hum (not overly loud!) which you will get used to. When the water is getting low, you’ll hear the pump make more of a noise, which is a clear indicator that you need to refill the tank (it’s not a spluttering sound, but similar). I’ve also made wait of cleaning this once a month, as some black ‘dust’ was building around the waters’ edge in the tank… and yes it’s easy to clean… but as yet I’ve not replaced the filter that comes with this – these can bought in pairs of under twenty pounds: Flower Fountain Water Softening Filters (2 Pack)
although I would prefer these to be more affordable. Having not replaced the first one after three months, I’ll see how long it’ll last before I replace it. The overall design is cute, although I’d prefer a simpler non-flower design… you can actually remove the flower head design, but then you’ll lose the multiple trickles of water. The best thing with this item is that water is continually fresh (which our cat prefers) as opposed to refilling a small water bowl ever day (especially as cat hair also would fall into it!), so it one less of task to do each day. Would easily recommend.

Needed the cat to drink more. This is a little more interesting than a plain bowl and holds a sizeable amount of water so will not run out during the day. Pretty quiet but you can tell it is running.
ali hill –
Bit fiddly to put together and needs pushing hard to engage- which is always a bit worrying that you’re going to break it.Would benefit from a longer cable for easier positioning.Cat uses it daily- so does it’s job, particularly in this hot weather.
Rowens –
Main thing is my little rescue loves it! Her other fountain was looking a bit mucky as it had no filter. This is perfect. Stores plenty of water and she will sit next to it for a while having a good drink. Very quiet and super easy to assemble.
Ross+Mai –
Our cats will find a way to splash anything, this appears to be splash proof… so far so good!
A. J. Laing –
The construction and operation of this is excellent, it has a little submersible pump that creates a flow of water and the capacity of 3 litres of water is really good. It is quiet in operation though the flow of water makes you wonder if there is a leak of water somewhere!Unfortunately I fell foul of my cat who is used to drinking out of a bowl on the windowsill, I ran the fountain for a couple of weeks but never came across my cat using it. Like any cat related gadget it’s up to him if he uses it and in this case he didn’t. I wasn’t going to create an issue by taking away other drinking sources so such is!

My cat has drank less water recently so I thought of getting this. I can absolutely say I am delighted with the purchase. It only arrived today but my little guy loves it. At first he was hesitant but as curiosity got the better of him he started watching it and dipping his paws in eventually drinking from it.It doesn’t take up anywhere near as much room as I was expecting, is a lot less noisier than expected and is aesthetically pleasing.5 stars all the way – very pleased with this purchase and I am looking into investing in some of their other products.
