I love this mandolin. I have never owned a mandolin before because was always afraid of them. After looking at quite few other I believe I made the right decision. So I tend to never use this for veggies (it’s intended use). I use it for hard salami. And it works surprisingly well for that! So if you’re into buying your own charcuterie meats and slicing them yourself, this is a cheaper and easier to deal with tool than an electric slicer. It’s also easy to clean.Truth be told, the salami is probably going to wear out the blades a lot faster. But so far so good.

Replaced my very old plastic mandolin with this heavier duty one after becoming dedicated to a whole foods, plant-based diet. I like that you don’t need to keep track of blades and can just turn the knob for desired thickness. I had no problem with setup and have used the thinnest cut for a cucumber so far. Will be shredding cabbage today. Worked great and just needed to be rinsed off after use and left to dry. Make sure to keep blade guard on when not using or put somewhere people and pets can’t get to–and let them know not to touch! I keep in large zip-lock freezer bag after it has dried just to be sure. I always wear the protective gloves, and also use the gloves for a manual dicing gizmo I have, too. Gloves are very comfortable for me, and fit very well. Whatever you do: WEAR THE PROTECTIVE GLOVES (unless you want to end up in the ER). Even a very small mishap on a fingertip will be like the mother of all paper cuts–bleeding, super painful. Enjoy adding lots more veggies to your diet, but WEAR.THE.GLOVES. It can’t be overstated.

The attached image is of 1/2 a large cucumber I was able to julienne in less than 15 seconds. Beautiful & efficient. I love the stability that the 2-different height & angles the feet provide. The dial to choose different thickness is easy to use and securely locks in place so the blades doesn’t move during use. My only down-side comment is the directions on how to remove the blade to clean it is not clear. I still cannot figure out how to remove the blade and have had to go against manufacturer warning, and rinse off the entire apparatus (it’s warned to NOT wet the entire device to wash it, and only remove the blade)

Gave this to my wife for Christmas, but haven’t had a chance to put it to use. I can say that it is quality build. For safety, it also comes with good gloves, a food cup with spikes that holds the food securely while using, and a brush for cleaning. The spikes are slightly recessed form the bottom of the food cup that slides along the mandoline surface so they won’t ever hit the blade. The bottom of the cup is designed so that it remains centered on the mandoline when using. Hand pressure on the top of the cup causes the cup spike plate to continually push the food to the surface of the mandoline as it is sliced or julianed so that you can completely slice the entire piece of food easily. Mandoline blade is easy to adjust, and the blade adjustment is clearly marked for types of slicing and julianning (if that’s a word 🙂 It can be adjusted to move the blade so that it is “below” the top of the mandoline which should help with safety when stored, and the blade has a small cover (no snagging and cutting your fingertips when rummaging around in the kitchen drawer). Legs fold out to give the mandoline a slightly downward angle for ease of use and folds up rlatively flat for ease of storage, but it is still over an inch tall when folded (would be better if the back leg design allowed it to fold completely flat). This is a fair sized mandoline, so keep that in mind if you have limited kitchen drawer or cabinet storage. After useing a few times, I’ll update the review.

This item works GREAT! Yet, you must be VERY careful using it. There are virtually no instructions on use, cleaning or safety. Highly recommend putting the gloves on before handling this tool. The blade is extremely sharp, and exposed by design.

La mia valutazione e’ un insieme di aspetti positivi e negativi gia’ riferiti da altri utenti. Positivo qualita’ materiale, robustezza ed qualita’ lame; meno positivo manutenzione e pulizia, impossibilita’ di inserire un contenitore adeguato sotto la mandolina per raccogliere verdure tagliate. Funziona bene con tutto cio’ che e’ bello sodo/duro (come patate, finocchi etc., pessimo con pomodoro che pure mi sembrava sodo). Assolutamente insoddisfatta da confezione: scatola piena di foto e descrizione in inglese delle caratteristiche principali, da nessuna parte la marca!!! l’indicazione dei materiali e la fabbricazione, eccetto, per la sola marca, in piccolissimo su un etichetta adesiva col codice a barre…. All’interno un modesto pieghevole in inglese e, per la pulizia, due paragrafi riferiti esclusivamente alla pulizia del dispositivo di sicurezza che spinge la verdura verso la lama, per tutto il resto neanche una parola e neppure la conferma della possibilita’ di lavare la mandolina in lavastoviglie… Personalmente l’ho fatto e non ho rilevato problemi.Insomma la sensazione e’ stata di una versione/imitazione di una versione di marca, sopratutto per la trascuratezza nel fornire tutti i dettagli generalmente ripetuti fino alla nausea sulla confezione di un prodotto di marca…IN OGNI CASO L’ACQUISTO NON MI HA DELUSO E LA USO NEL COMPLESSO CON SODDISFAZIONE.

This product is amongst the nicer ones, I did extensive research before purchasing. The mandolin slicer comes with cut proof gloves and also a hand guard. Which is absolutely necessary!! Blades — as you can imagine, extremely sharp. This unit is very well designed, I must say that, I’m most satisfied with the safety of this unit. There’s also a plastic cover to protect the blade when unit is not in use. Also nice design, & warranty. I’ve used it to make French fries (shoe string & steak cut) also I’ve made Potato chips, the potato chips are very easy to achieve on this slicer. You can choose thickness of chips using dial. I’ve also used it on sweet potatoes, which at times might need to be pre-boiled to soften a bit to achieve easy and smooth cuts, over all, I use this product here and there, and am pleased, I have had now over 5 months.

We replaced our plastic mandolin slicer because it flexed during use, did not give us even slices and only came with a hand protector. After using the Mandolin Dial Slicer for several weeks we are impressed with the results. The product performs exactly as advertised. Users must remember however it is not a toy. It has a very sharp blade and should be kept out of the reach of children. Included safety accessories are a blade protector for cleaning and storage, cut resistant safety gloves, and a hand protector. I used a cheap plastic mandolin before and it soon broke and I continued to use it and would get frustrated because I’d have to stop to fix it.
